Pastors, it's good to remember that while healthy things grow, healthy things don't keep growing in the same way. All living things begin growing by expansion but eventually grow by reproduction. In fact, to keep growing by expansion is a sure sign of sickness. How are our churches growing? Are we only paying attention to growth by expansion or are we looking for ways to grow by reproducing ourselves– fully reproducing ourselves: new believers, new disciples, new leaders, new communities of faith? Have you considered that a church that keeps growing by expansion might just be an unhealthy church?
