Secondhand Jesus

Hi friends,

This is a video explaining the core message of my new book, "Secondhand Jesus: Trading Rumors of God for a Firsthand Faith." I'd love it if you shared this video with all your friends. The book releases in June BUT you can pre-order it now by clicking here.

I believe strongly in this message and hope it resonates with you.

"Don't look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don't fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention."
Matthew 7:13-14 (the Message)

"I admit I once lived by rumors of you;
now I have it all firsthand—from my own eyes and ears!
I'm sorry—forgive me. I'll never do that again, I promise!
I'll never again live on crusts of hearsay, crumbs of rumor."
Job 42:5-6ish (the Message)

  1. Mmmmmmmm, actually shared the video this weekend with some of the guys at church. And now they are almost more excited than I am! Yai, for our book-club! But on a more serious note, I daily see people struggling with their issues – reaching for the self-help books and other people’s solutions. Which is not a bad thing in itself, but a definite symptom of our “plastic” world. We tend to forget that God is constantly teaching and stretching us. And in this stretching(ouch!),isn’t that then how we get the opportunity to experience God firsthand and acquire firsthand faith?
